What is "The People's Mandate"?
Our democracy isn’t democratic because we live in a state that suppresses its voters, changes their districts to silence them, and prevents the public at large from even becoming voters. We must have a country where we empower our voters, that creates districts that actually represent the people in them and their history, and ensures every person who lives here has a say in our government.
-
We demand Universal automatic voter registration upon turning voting age, while expanding forms of ID taken for voter verification.

We demand our government give us real voting rights that cannot be taken away, even for felons, and are always seeking ways to make it easier for working people to vote through things like federal voting holidays and more.

The People's Mandate Census
You are not filling out a form. You are laying a brick.
Every answer on this page becomes part of the People’s Mandate — the document our communities write ourselves to tell those in power exactly what we demand. We are not guessing what Louisiana needs. We are counting it, in your words, parish by parish. What you write here will be read, analyzed, and carried into the Convening. Take your time. Tell the truth.
